“Strengthening the Vietnamese Higher Education System to improve graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship skills”, V2WORK, under the coordination of the University of Alicante, Spain, will last for 3 years (2018-2020) with 8 work packages and funded by Erasmus + Fund of the European Union. The V2Work project aims to strengthen the capacity of Vietnam’s higher education system, develop entrepreneurship and employment skills for students after graduation, and strengthen relationships with the labor market.
Participating in the project are 3 universities in Europe (University of Alicante – Spain, Coimbra University – Portugal, FHJ University ), 11 partners in Vietnam (Ministry of Education and Training creation, VCCI – Ho Chi Minh City, Organization of Young Talent Solutions – AIESEC, Da Nang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology University, Nha Trang University, Tay Nguyen University, Tra Vinh University, Thu Dau Mot University and Industrial University of Vinh).
The project will help build and modernize employment support centers and the labor market, update new career support services for students of 8 Vietnamese universities through establishing employment regulations, fostering and improving the quality of human resources to meet the professional working demands of domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations. In addition, the participating universities will receive professional training to help strengthen the relationship between universities and businesses through the development of tools and mechanisms to promote participation. In addition, businesses will be actively engaged in employment and career service centers, creating favorable conditions for students in finding employment and developing skills necessary for entrepreneurship.
Joining V2Work project, Industrial University of Vinh has more opportunities for lecturers to work and interact with the international professional environment. And more, the effects brought from the project will support the School to effectively implement the mission of training quality human resources for the provinces in the North Central region including Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh province
From March 17 to March 26, 2018, a delegation from Industrial University of Vinh, including representatives from the School Board, the Training Department and the Foreign Language Center, attended the kick-off meeting of V2Work project in Spain and visit career centers at the University of Alicante, and Coimbra University, Portugal

At the meeting, the parties discussed and agreed on a work plan for each year and the whole project. The whole project activity consists of 8 main work packages (WP) divided equally among partner schools. The project will be implemented in 8 work packages including: (1) Survey and needs analysis at 8 Universities; (2) Organize direct and online training courses on career support and start-up skills for students; (3) Institutional strengthening at 08 vocational centers; (4) Pilot activities at vocational centers; (5) Developing policy networks and labor markets; (6) Replicate the model and spread the Project to other universities; (7) Monitoring and quality assurance for project implementation; (8) Project management. As planned, the project will end by the end of 2020.

Delegates also discussed in detail the procedures for receiving, how to operate, manage the project, the financial mechanism in accordance with donor instructions and in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam.
In addition to the meetings at the University of Alicante and Coimbra University, the members of the delegation also visited the University of Alicante and the University of Coimbra, especially the Student Employment Support Center at these two universities. The program brought a new perspective on student employment support model, which also emphasized the importance of the Center for Student Employment Support in bridging students and businesses. bridging the gap in the school’s curriculum and the actual needs of the labor market, helping students get jobs in accordance with their future specialty.
The European experts of V2WORK project will come to train 8 Vietnamese universities with intensive training for trainers modules, which are expected to start preparing the content to closely follow the needs of the universities. In June 2018, training will be conducted until the end of 2019. After that, Vietnamese universities will continue to transfer and expand the experience gained from experts through local replication seminars and internships, online courses for relevant subjects at your school or other local schools.
